Weekly training 5 days of training
The various parts of the training
Day 1: Introduction (duration: whole day)
We get to know all the students. We discuss the training in detail, the various steps and phases in the program and the role of WFGT of The Netherlands as a training institute. Based on the study and teaching materials, we discuss the main points of the study material. In order to assist the WGTF Certified or Master Teaching Professional in a constructive manner, we specifically discuss setting up, assisting and supervising private lessons and clinics. Of course we will end the day with a 9-hole competition with assignment.
Day 2: Clinic
The first (training) day of the Assistant Golf Teacher training starts with teaching a clinic and providing a weekend HCP 54 course. The day program consists of undergoing, analyzing and observing how a clinic is cared for and given. We start with a presentation about the target groups, experience models and teaching methods, before the students undergo the clinic program.
Day 3: Provide clinic
During this day, the students will independently provide a clinic program to fellow students and other customers. All facets are discussed; putting - chipping - swing. In rotation, the student will teach various components and will be assessed and analyzed. The evaluation will take place during the evening program.
Day 4: Private lessons - lesson planning
During this lesson day we will distinguish between group lessons and private lessons. The private lessons will be for children - adults and disabled. In addition to the different target groups, we will discuss a sample 12-week lesson plan, where we jointly establish a structure to get started with and the WGTF has developed its own Swingball lesson plan.
Day 5: Teaching styles - video analysis and mirror image
The last training day will consist of video analysis to provide a different insight into how to teach with launch monitor systems. Teaching styles will also be discussed, how to stand safely and in what positions we can analyze and observe.
WGTF Exam
After successfully completing the weekly training, the student will receive the Assistant Golf Teaching Professional certificate.
Cost
The costs for this 5-day training are €2950, excluding travel/accommodation, lunch costs and drinks.
Start of the training
April, August and October
NB. Under the motto train the WGTF golf teacher, we have an extensive WYOG program of seminars and workshops. All this aimed at increasing and/or improving your own golf skills as well as giving group lessons, clinics, events and youth lessons. Both programs are an individual, optional addition to the training program and are therefore not mandatory components. None other than Phil Allen will take care of this for the WGTF.
